About the role
Midas Media Ltd. is hiring a freelance YouTube thumbnail designer for our fitness channel, @midasmvmt, and tech channel, @techbymidas.
We’re looking for someone who can make our thumbnails more compelling through strong concepts, composition, photo editing, lighting, and typography. You’ll improve existing thumbnails and create new ones while developing a distinct visual approach for each channel.
This is fully remote freelance work, open to applicants worldwide and paid per thumbnail. We expect approximately 6–12 thumbnails per month across both channels initially, with plans to increase the volume as our content output grows.

What you’ll do
- Develop thumbnail concepts around the video’s topic, title, and audience.
- Select strong images from supplied photos or footage and advise when additional shots would help.
- Retouch and composite people, products, and backgrounds with convincing lighting and clean edges.
- Create clear, eye-catching designs that work at small sizes.
- Refresh existing thumbnails and develop alternative concepts for testing.
- Deliver finished images and organized, fully editable source files.
What we’re looking for
- A portfolio of YouTube thumbnails you personally designed.
- Strong photo manipulation, compositing, typography, and visual storytelling skills.
- The ability to create distinct approaches for fitness and tech content.
- Clear communication and reliable delivery.
- An understanding of how the thumbnail and title work together to set an accurate expectation for the video.
Photoshop is preferred, but equivalent professional software is welcome. Any third-party assets must be appropriately licensed and disclosed.
Pay and selection
The rate is US$20 per completed thumbnail, including two revision rounds and the fully editable source file.
Shortlisted applicants will be offered one paid test thumbnail for US$10, using supplied assets. We’ll agree on the test scope and deadline before you accept. Successful work will lead to recurring work across both channels.

- Five to eight of your strongest YouTube thumbnails, ideally including fitness, tech, or product-focused work.
- A brief explanation of what you personally created, including any stock or AI-generated elements.
- Your design software and typical turnaround.
- Confirmation that you’re comfortable with US$20 per thumbnail, including two revision rounds and editable source files.
- One current thumbnail from either channel that you would improve, with a short explanation of what you would change and why. No redesign is required to apply.
Applications without the written note will not be reviewed.
