We're looking for an experienced video editor to help us bring a new video podcast to life.

We're looking for someone with strong experience editing video podcasts and interviews, including both long-form episodes and short-form social content. A great sense of pacing, storytelling, and visual polish is important. Motion graphics and graphic design skills are a plus.

This is a new podcast, so we're looking for someone who can do more than execute a formula. We'd love to work with an editor who has strong creative instincts, brings ideas to the table, and can help us develop the visual style and editing language of the show.

We'll start by working together on one episode. If we like each other's style and work well together, we'd love to build a long-term working relationship.

If you’re interested in working with us, please email podcast@electriccapital.com with a few examples of your work. If it is a good fit, we’d love to schedule a call to chat and learn more about you.

What is the podcast?
1.5 to 2-hour, in-depth conversations between 1 host & 1 guest set in scenic locations (e.g. outside with a view, indoors with a beautiful backdrop)

Premise:
Conversations with people who have an insight, have built a company around this core insight, and can explain why this insight is core to moving humanity forward. The feeling of the episode should be two friends having a conversation, learning from each other, and having fun.

What are examples and references?
  • Matthew McConaughey
    • Why this is a reference: our first video is shot outside with a similar setup (outside interview w/ 3 camera angles); the tenor of the conversation is casual & relaxed
  • Why every MrBeast video gets 200M views (interview)
    • Why this is a reference: seamless way of getting images, charts, b-roll into the main interview video. Added clips and images look smooth and not distracting. We will have charts and graphics for our podcast, too.

Who are we?
A small team building the media branch of a larger venture capital firm called Electric Capital. We work with people who care deeply about the quality of the output, can come up with creative or unorthodox solutions to problems, and work quickly.
