I built a YouTube channel from zero to 81,000 subscribers and about 60 million lifetime views, and I did every job on it myself. Concept, research, script, voice, edit, thumbnail, title, upload, analytics. That's Movie Talk NOW, 740+ videos of superhero and pop culture commentary, and it's still where I test everything before I sell it to a client. If a tactic works there, clients get it. If it doesn't, nobody hears about it. Most of that reach came from short form. Shorts, Reels and TikToks taught me how fast a hook has to land and how much packaging decides before anyone presses play. I rewrite titles and rebuild thumbnails off retention and click data, not vibes. The other half of my week is Perez Perspective, my video and social marketing shop in Caldwell, NJ. 20+ brands across restaurants, wellness, real estate, retail, manufacturing and political campaigns. When Tropical Juice Bar opened their Union location, I ran weeks of targeted video and local ads into opening day and they had a line down the street for hours. They were at 10 stores when I started. They're at 13 now. I also adapt campaigns into Spanish for Latino-owned brands. I came up as a designer first. Communication Design at FIT and years in house before I ever touched video, which is why a channel I run looks like one brand instead of ten. The political science degree from Scranton mostly taught me how to build an argument someone will actually sit through, which turns out to be the whole job in commentary. AI is baked into how I work, as a multiplier and not a replacement. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and MidJourney handle drafts, research, images and automation. Strategy, taste and the final call stay human. I also consult and coach small businesses on setting the same systems up for themselves. What I can do that most people can't is run the entire pipeline alone and still ship on schedule. Script it, shoot it, cut it in Premiere, design the thumbnail, write the copy, read the numbers the next morning, adjust. If you need one person who can take a channel from idea to published without a committee, that's the job I want.

What I care about most is pacing. Whether a cut holds someone or loses them is decided in fractions of a second, and getting that right is the part of this work I enjoy more than anything else. Colour, sound design, transitions — for me they all exist to serve it. I didn't come up through film school. I studied industrial engineering, picked up a camera in 2021, and learned everything since by doing it. More than 40 wedding films, 100+ reels and shorts for business clients, a handful of retainer clients I work with month to month. No course, no mentor — just far more footage than was reasonable and a habit of being honest with myself about what didn't land. Two of those client videos have since passed 1.8 and 2.4 million views. The year I'm proudest of: I was the editor behind High Energy Mind, a weekly YouTube podcast with around 7,750 subscribers. Roughly 50 long-form episodes, one every single week, plus the short-form clips cut from each. I delivered most of it from the road — eight months of travelling, different countries, different wifi, same weekly deadline. I didn't miss one. That year also taught me sound. I came from wedding film, where you build everything around the image. Podcasts work the other way round: people will forgive an ordinary frame and leave instantly over bad audio. So I learned mixing properly — cleanup, levels, getting two voices to sit in the same room. It's now the part of my work I'd point to first, and it's where I'm useful in a way a lot of editors aren't: picture and sound both come from me, so nothing gets handed off or half-finished. And because I'm still regularly behind a camera myself (Sony FX3, drone licence), I know what a shooter can and can't hand me. That turns most feedback into a two-line message instead of a call. DaVinci Resolve, long-form and short-form, at my best on a recurring schedule rather than one-off projects. Native German and Turkish, fluent English.
