Description

I feel like a lot of editors in the documentary space focus too much on making everything flashy and filling the video with impressive visuals. But viewers aren’t watching a documentary just for the visuals they’re there for the story. So my main focus is always keeping the viewer interested from the first minute to the last. The visuals, music, sound design and motion graphics should support the story, not distract from it.

Another thing I bring to the table is storytelling and content writing. Since I understand editing from a storytelling point of view, I can also help with structuring the content, improving the flow, finding stronger hooks and figuring out what information should come where. I think that’s a big advantage because I’m not just thinking about how to edit the footage. I’m also thinking about what the viewer should feel and why they should keep watching.

I’m always trying to learn and improve with every project. My goal is pretty simple: make videos that are enjoyable to watch, easy to follow, and most importantly, leave the viewer wanting to see what happens next.
