Description

If you need to move a huge amount of notes into Obsidian all at once without doing it by hand, the official Importer plugin is where you start. It works, and it's supposed to. Migrating years of notes, research, or database entries into a new app is usually the worst part of switching, since going file by file is a nightmare.

The Importer handles it by converting entire export archives or local database files from other apps into standard Markdown files with YAML frontmatter, all on your own machine. So thousands of pages, attachments, and tags get converted automatically without you reformatting anything by hand. It covers a lot of formats, which surprised me, but it makes sense because Obsidian wants you to switch over. It can handle Notion and Evernote exports, read Apple Notes directly from your Mac, and even pull in data from CSV spreadsheet files.
