Description

Emery Eckman is a writer, director, and producer dedicated to heartfelt storytelling. A UC Irvine Film and Media Studies graduate, her short drama "All That’s Left" was selected for Zotfest and later acquired by 1401 Films. After producing 1401’s award-winning short, “A Passage of Silence,” she helped grow their Instagram from 350 followers to 38,000 over a few months. She’s currently developing new projects, including co-writing an animated short and producing a feature. She’s also trying to pay her bills.

Outside of 1401, Emery is the Associate Producer on "Super Seniors," a documentary directed by UCI professor Liz Cane. Hoping to inspire more artists, Emery champions film education as a Young Ambassador for the Student Media Collective, led by Sundance co-founder Cirina Catania, with whom she collaborates closely as a journalist for Catania’s news site, USTimes.

Dedicated to inspiring change, Emery collaborates on projects that inspire dialogue, empathy, and creativity, while empowering others to do the same.
