Description

Rhema — The Video Scientist. I turn raw, unscripted real life into story-driven YouTube that people watch to the end and smile after.

How I learned: Self-taught through obsession. Architecture student, so I think in structure — hook, flow, payoff. I built my craft around storytelling, not just cutting: J/L cuts, cold→warm color shifts, layered sound design (room tone, foley, heartbeat, traffic), and After Effects UI/screen animations that make talking-head + B-roll feel cinematic. Now fluent in After Effects + Premiere Pro workflow, building retention-first edits for long-form and IRL.

Recent milestone: Created "I Almost Gave Up" — 30-second cinematic lifestyle vlog that proves I can take random moments and make them personal. Also built a 31K-view short from long-form podcast repurpose (hook/cut/retention) and a MagnatesMedia-style documentary hook on "Buy Now Pay Later Trap" with IKEA-effect depth trick + bold text + whoosh transitions.

What I'm passionate about: Ryan Trahan meets Yes Theory style — real places, real strangers, real moments playing out. Nothing staged. I believe comedy is timing (hold 1.2 sec on awkward face, cut 0.3 sec early) and heart is sound (let silence breathe before payoff). I watch YouTube to study retention: when to hold, when to zoom, when to let multicam (Meta glasses POV, GoPro Ultra, Insta360 X5, lav) do the work.

How I help where others can't:
• IRL & Lifestyle specialists: I sync messy multicam + fix audio + cut dead air but KEEP the awkward real pause that makes people stay. • Talking-head + B-roll: Clean financial audit edits with graphics that explain, not distract. • Motion graphics: After Effects screen/UI animations, captions, zooms, simple motion that boosts retention without meme overload. • Sound: I mix music + layered SFX + room tone so video feels alive, not just loud. • Reliable: I overlap 2PM-6PM WAT = 9AM-1PM ET (3-4h US Eastern) + evenings, deliver via Google Drive/Frame.io, communicate, meet 7-day first cut deadlines, easy to work with.
If you need an editor who cares about story first, retention always, and people walking away smiling — I'm your guy.
