I Build the Operation Behind Growing YouTube Channels

I started as an editor, and I kept asking why. Why one video held people and the next one didn't. Why the team kept missing uploads. Why every problem landed on the creator's desk. Those questions turned me into the person who builds the operation behind a channel. On one YouTube channel I went from editor to creative director. I set up the shared files, brand standards and handoffs that let a small team publish a 30-minute video almost every day, then led the shift to fewer, better videos. That channel passed 120 million views. Since then I've built the same kind of backbone in very different places: a production agency serving dozens of creators, a mental health nonprofit, a civic media group, and local businesses putting their experts on camera. I also helped make a documentary that has passed 1.6 million views, with a team I'd worked alongside for years. Here's what all of it taught me. The algorithm rewards retention, and retention comes from story. Packaging earns the click; the story is what keeps people watching. Systems are what let you tell that story every week without burning out. So that's what I bring: creative direction you can see in the retention graph, plus the workflows, roles and training that let your team own the day to day. If your channel has outgrown the way it runs, tell me where it's stuck.
