I think the biggest thing that makes me different is that I’m kind of incapable of leaving an interesting question alone. If something catches my attention, I want to know where it came from, why it happened, what everyone else got wrong about it, and what the weird little details are that nobody talks about. My background is a weird mix of creative and technical. I went to college for Unmanned Aerial Systems, so I learned how to work with technical information, research, analyze data, and solve problems. At the same time, I worked with my university’s media production company and got to spend time doing the thing I’d actually loved since I was a kid: making things and telling stories. Now I’m graduated and trying to bring those two sides back together. I’m especially interested in research-heavy content like history, science, technology, mysteries, internet rabbit holes, or really anything where you can start with a feeling and end up with a genuinely good story. I've spent the last 8+ years working professionally in post-production, editing everything from broadcast television and award shows to documentaries, live events, corporate productions, and independent projects. I've often been responsible for taking a project all the way from media preparation and organization through the edit, revisions, graphics, audio, finishing, QC, and final delivery. A big part of my experience has been finding the story. I've edited interview-driven documentaries, recurring television series, live performances, multicam productions with up to 15 cameras, and projects where I was often required to make the editorial decisions myself or with a team.
