Description
I've spent over 25 years in the edit suite, most of them cutting documentaries, reportage and magazine formats for German public broadcasters like SWR, ZDF, Arte and 3sat. That's where I learned the craft the hard way — how to find the story in hours of raw footage, hold an audience through a 40-minute piece, and hit a hard broadcast deadline without dropping the quality bar. Pacing, structure and clean color grading are second nature to me by now.
More recently I've gone all-in on AI filmmaking. I run my own AI studio, Goldlab Synthetics, and recently finished "Druckverlust," an AI-generated sci-fi short — writing, generating and editing it end to end with tools like Runway, Kling and Midjourney, then finishing in Premiere and DaVinci Resolve. So I'm not a traditional editor who's nervous about AI, and I'm not an AI hobbyist who can't actually cut. I'm both, and that combination is still rare.
Crucially, I don't just make pretty visuals. My documentary background means I know how to illustrate talking-head and voiceover content with material that actually supports what's being said — the right B-roll, AI-generated scenes, and graphics that carry the information, not just decorate it. That's the harder, more valuable skill: turning a script or a presenter into a video that's genuinely clear and engaging to watch.
I work independently, I'm reliable with deadlines, and I'm fully set up to deliver remotely — long-form documentaries or fast-turnaround shorts alike. If you want an editor who brings broadcast-level polish and genuinely understands where content is heading, I'd love to help build your channel.
